Dancehall Seoul is the main community and cultural platform for Jamaican Dancehall in South Korea.
We connect dancers, teachers, and cultural projects from Jamaica, Europe, and Asia,
creating workshops, battles, performances, and educational programs in Seoul.

 

Founded by Seri.P, a Korean Dancehall artist who has trained and worked with Jamaican and international dancers,
Dancehall Seoul represents a growing community that studies and shares Dancehall with honesty and respect.

🌍 International Workshops

Our platform regularly invites global artists to share their knowledge and energy in Seoul.

 

This journey began back in 2019,
when Seri.P first organized a workshop in Korea with Jamaican dancers 7ven and Craig,
sparking her passion for cultural programming and artist exchange.

Years later, after continuous work in Jamaica and Europe,
she officially relaunched Dancehall Seoul in 2024,
inviting French Dancehall pioneer GBB as the first international guest under the renewed platform.

 

Since then, Dancehall Seoul has continued to expand its global network —
hosting workshops with artists such as Louvto, Marthe, and Pandimi,
building bridges between Jamaica, Europe, and Asia through authentic Dancehall education.

🌱 Local Development in Korea

While Dancehall Seoul connects with international artists and teachers,
our foundation is built on local community development.

 

Through regular classes, mentoring programs, and performance projects,
we train and support Korean dancers who are passionate about authentic Dancehall culture.

 

To strengthen the local scene, we run two key programs:

 

1️⃣ Weekendwid Rookies
A workshop program designed for rising Korean Dancehall dancers.
Participants experience what it’s like to become a teacher themselves —
learning how to structure a class, share knowledge, and represent their own style.
It’s a space for growth, confidence, and leadership development.

 

2️⃣ Local Dancehall Teacher Collaboration Workshops
A series of collaboration workshops led by active Korean Dancehall teachers.
Each session focuses on sharing perspectives,
combining different styles, and celebrating the diversity of our scene.
